"Sisterhood is so many things. It's a warn smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug, a cheerful hello... It's all that a good and lasting friendship is, only better. It's treasured. It's sacred. It's knowing that there will always be someone there for you. It's dreams shared, and goals achieved. It's counting on others and being counted on. It is real." -Anonymous
When it comes to sisterhood, it's hard to explain what that means in Tri Delta because it's hard to know where to begin! It's more than just the weekly chapter meetings and frequent "Delta's Only" activities; it's more than just ritual or wearing our letters. It's more than the "things" that bring us together by necessity, it's the intangible reason why we want to be together. At it's very core, our sisterhood is about unparalleled friendships. It's the bonds that start to form among pledge classes from Bid Day and beyond; it's finding out that you and your Big have more in common than you ever thought possible; it's realizing that the older girls, whom you admire and maybe feel a little intimidated by, are your equals and they admire you right back. Most of all, it's looking around a crowded suite and feeling proud of the amazing ladies that you can call sisters. It may seem that the differences between 60+ women would divide us but having a unique mix of passions and pursuits is something we thrive on. In Tri Delta, there is never a shortage of love and support. Ultimately, sisterhood is knowing that another delta will always be there for you—not because she's forced to, but because she genuinely cares.
